# Liam Tormey

> Liam Tormey is the personal and artist site of a Melbourne-based computer developer, music producer, audio engineer, and entrepreneurial founder.

Liam Tormey is based in Princes Hill, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Music (Performance) from the University of Melbourne (2016). He is the founder of Riverun Pty Ltd (ACN 663 364 154) and has built its entire product ecosystem — dozens of apps spanning music-industry tooling, payments, education, civic/regional media, and creative tools (full list below). He is currently writing a book, *Good Vibrations: How Music Heals Us All* — a life-course book about music as a force for regulation, connection, repair, and presence, moving from infancy and parent–infant voice through learning, rehabilitation, dementia, pain, oncology, and end-of-life care. Its central argument is that music heals by organising time, and it's framed through musicology and ethnomusicology as well as neuroscience. Chapter arc: 1. The First Beats (infancy, voice, bonding), 2. Learning Rhythm, Learning Self (development, instrument learning), 3. The Cognitive Map (traumatic brain injury, frontal-lobe recovery), 4. Clinical Resonance (stroke, aphasia, Parkinson's, rhythm-based rehabilitation), 5. The Social Symphony (collective music-making, synchrony), 6. The Long Note (dementia, memory, identity), 7. Relief (pain, oncology, hospital soundscapes), 8. Presence (end-of-life music and ritual). No publication date yet — currently in source-inventory and drafting stage.

He founded and performs in the groups Thunder Kin, The Auralians, and Oscillated Dream, and produces/collaborates with artists Alchemical Az and Goldn Pash.
